Bhaskar's Arts Academy Ltd
Your donation will help BAA to create & support the next generation of dance & music artists. BAA will do so by providing the platform & opportunity for performance & choreography/composing, commissioning experts to give masterclasses to level up skills & thought-processes, & creating a space for emerging artists to collaborate. It is also part of BAA's DNA to create multicultural works which started with Butterfly Lovers (1958). Your donation will help BAA to continue reaching out across ethnic & genre lines and collaborating with artists & arts groups to create truly Singaporean works.
Bhaskar’s Arts Academy is a Singapore-based Indian classical dance and music company. Established in 1952 by the late KP Bhaskar, it was helmed by his wife Cultural Medallion recipient Santha Bhaskar until her passing in 2022. It is now led by their daughter and Young Artist Award recipient Meenakshy Bhaskar. BAA has a uniquely evolving style that is reflective of the multicultural Singaporean spirit while being rooted in traditional philosophies. Along with its teaching wing Nrityalaya, BAA is steadfast in its mission to touch lives by championing Indian performing arts on stage and beyond.
