- Helping to grow our Registry - Patient Subsidies for Marrow transplants - Research into new methods of treatment to help patients unable to find a match
Blood diseases such as Leukaemia, Lymphoma and Myeloma can strike at any time. When all else fails, a bone marrow transplant is often the only chance of survival. As finding a Matched Unrelated Donor (MUD) means a healthy donor with the same HLA profile, the odds of finding that unique match can be very low, even within one's own family. Hence since 1993, we at the Bone Marrow Donor Programme (BMDP) have been committed to building and managing Singapore's only register of volunteer marrow donors.
