The Singapore Lyric Opera Limited
Your support goes directly to our children's training. In a fun, supportive and safe environment, children learn vocal and musical skills, working alongside classmates from different cultural and national backgrounds. Here, they develop confidence, discipline, teamwork and an appreciation of the diversity around them, understanding and respecting different cultures from a young age. For SLO, opera is therefore more than a performance on stage. It is a platform for participation, learning, cultural exchange and community building. This is what our organisation contributes to Singapore.
We are committed to making western opera accessible to the community and using the arts to bring people of different ages, cultures and backgrounds together. Through our performances, education programmes and chorus training, we provide opportunities for people to come together, participate and engage with one another through music. Western opera can also provide a meaningful cultural connection for new arrivals from other parts of the world, including Europe, giving them an opportunity to experience a familiar tradition while becoming part of Singapore's diverse arts community.
